Why does background image upload fail even if the file is under 2MB?

File size and naming rules for uploading images in Studio

If you're having trouble uploading a background image β€” even though the file size appears to be under 2MB β€” there are two common reasons this can happen:

πŸ“ 1. File Size Limits by Area

Payments2us Studio enforces different image size limits to ensure fast page loading:

  • Donation Pages & Thank You Pages: Max file size = 2MB
  • Donation Forms (Step 1 images): Max file size = 100KB

πŸ’‘ Make sure you're checking the file size based on where you're uploading the image.

πŸ”€ 2. Special Characters in the File Name

If your image meets the size limit but still won't upload, it may be due to special characters in the file name. For example:

  • Characters like _, (, ), &, or # may cause upload errors
  • File names should include only letters and numbers

βœ… What to do:

  • Rename your image file using a clean name like:
    BannerImage.jpg or DonationBg1.png
  • Then try uploading again
