How do I Update / Change credit card details of a Recurring payment

Overview

When a donor updates their Recurring Payment details, you may also need to update the stored Credit Card Token so the next payments can be processed successfully.

Payments2Us does not store card numbers in Salesforce. Instead, a secure token is generated and saved in the Billing Token field. Updating the token ensures the recurring payment continues without interruption.

How to Update the Credit Card Details

  1. Open the Recurring Payment record in Salesforce.
  2. Save or verify the Recurring Payment Details if changes were made.
  3. Click the Update Card Details button.
  4. Enter the new credit card details in the secure payment window.
  5. Once submitted, the gateway generates a new token, which is automatically stored on the record.

Important Notes

  • The actual card number is never stored in Salesforce.
  • For a recurring credit card payment to be processed, it must be tokenised using the Update Card Details button.
  • The new token is stored in the Billing Token field and will be used for all future scheduled payments.
