The progress bar on a donation page shows how close a campaign is to its fundraising goal, updating automatically as new donations come in. Studio now gives organisations more control over how that progress is calculated and displayed, including a multiplier for matched-giving campaigns (e.g. Giving Day) and the ability to manually adjust the progress shown, useful for reflecting donations received outside the platform.
Before you start: connect a Thank You page
The progress bar only updates automatically when a Thank You page is correctly linked to the donation page: this is what syncs each new transaction back to the page's progress total. If you haven't set this up yet, follow the foundational guide first: How to Set Up a Thank You Page with P2U Studio
Two things must be passed correctly for a donation to count toward progress:
- The unique TxnNo (transaction number)
- The Total Amount of the transaction
Be sure to complete this connection before proceeding to the next steps of configuration.
Where to find it
Go to Update Details for your donation page, and you can find the new progress controls:
- Goal: Set the fundraising target displayed on your donation progress bar.
- Donation Progress: The total amount already raised for this campaign. This will be shown as progress towards your goal.
- Donor Count: The number of supporters who have donated to this campaign. This can be displayed alongside the progress bar.

Setting a progress bar multiplier
Use the multiplier when you want donations to count for more than their actual value toward the progress bar, such as doubling every gift during a matched-giving campaign like a Giving Day.
To set it up
- Enter a multiplier value in the Progress Bar Multiplier field.
- Default is
1(no multiplication). - Decimal values are supported, e.g.
1.5.
- Leave Automatically stop multiplication when the goal is reached checked (default) if you want multiplication to stop as soon as the goal is hit. Uncheck it if you want multiplication to keep applying even after the goal is reached.
How changes take effect
- The multiplier only applies to donations made after it's set or changed. Past donations are never recalculated or adjusted retroactively.
- You can update the multiplier at any time. For example, changing it from
2back to1means donations from that point onward are no longer doubled, but donations already counted under the2multiplier stay as they were.
Demonstration
Step 1: Review current progress bar

Step 3: Make a transaction, e.g. $200
Step 4: Review progress bar, notice it's increased by $400 ($200 x 2)
Manually controlling donation progress
Admins can now view and directly adjust the current progress from the back end, which is useful for adding in donations received outside the platform (cash, cheque, etc.) so the progress bar reflects the full picture.

Donation Progress shows the current running total counted toward the goal. For example, if progress is currently 1,500 of a 2,000 goal, this field shows
1500(with Goal showing2000). - Donor Count shows the current number of donors, and can be adjusted the same way.
To manually adjust progress, edit the Donation Progress field directly, increasing or decreasing it as needed (e.g. changing 1500 to 1700). This updates immediately on the front-end progress bar. Any new donations that come in afterward are added on top of the updated value, not the original one.
