Direct Debits

Direct Debits is the process of directly taking funds from a contacts bank account (with their permission and prior approval).  This is available for organisations that are in Australia or New Zealand.

Payments2Us manages Direct Debits in the same way many organisations would pay their suppliers or employees.  This is through the generation of an Australian Banking Association (ABA) file or CSV file and then processing that through their organisations internet banking.

As well as supporting ABA/CSV file uploads, Payments2Us supports fully automated Direct Debits with EziDebit, Global Payments Oceania and Stripe.  This option works similar to Credit Card processing where card holders can sign up online and then the charge automatically taken on the due date.

For more information on Direct Debits, see the Direct Debit section of this user guide.

PayPal

PayPal is supported as an option in conjunction with one of the supported Payment Gateways.  That is, you cannot use Payments2Us with just PayPal and no credit card options.

PayPal is included for single transactions free of charge.

For Recurring Payments, PayPal is supported for an additional monthly subscription.

For more information on PayPal, see the PayPal Setup section of the Installation Guide.

Manual Payments

Manual payments are payments such as cash, cheques/checks, money orders etc.

Payments2Us allows for these to be captured:

  • Manual Payments Tab in Salesforce
  • From the Manual Payments Button on the Contact/Account/Opportunity or any object in Salesforce
  • Batch Entry Tab in Salesforce
  • Checkout Form when used in conjunction with URL Parameters with All Manual for External set.  This is used when staff need to process payments offsite.

For more information on Manual Payments, see the Manual Payments Section in this User guide.

Account2Account

Account2Account provides a checkout method that enables contacts/donors to make an online payment that transact real time through their internet banking.

On the checkout form, if the donor select Account2Account, they will then:

  • Be asked to select their bank
  • Then to log into their internet banking
  • Select the account they wish to make their payment form
  • Confirm the transaction.

Account2Account means instant payments to your organisation.  It also means you do not need to check for funds arriving in your bank account and then marking these off in Salesforce/Payments2us.

You can see a demo of Account to Account

Account2Account is Available in Australia and New Zealand. It is only available to those organisations that are using Windcave/Payment Express Payment Gateway.

eCheck/ACH

eCheck/ACH is the direct transfer of funds from the contacts bank account to your organisation bank account.  This option is only available in the US for recurring payments.  It is also only supported for Payments2Us Customers that are using Authorize.net or Stripe.

At a high level, the eCheck process is:

  • Customer/Donor Signs up online and selects eCheck
  • Or, a Recurring Payment is added with a record type of ACH and then the "Update Account" details button is used to capture the contact details.
  • For Stripe, new sign ups require the Verify Account button on the Recurring Payment to be used to activate the account.
  • Recurring Payment Processor generates a payment transaction and makes the charge on the Next Payment Date.

For Authorize.net, a nightly processor runs to check to see if the eCheck has settled and then updates the Payment Txn Status accordingly.

Google Pay and Apple Pay

Google Pay and Apple Pay are currently only available for organisations that are using the Windcave or Stripe SCA Payment Gateway.

Google Pay and Apple Pay are available for singe or recurring payments.

Apple Pay will only appear on checkouts when on an IOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad).  If your Payment2Us form is embedded as an iFrame and Apple Pay is selected, the form will "break out" and appear as the top level page for accepting/processing Apple Pay payment.  You will most likely need to get your web site developer to add special code and manage the return of the Payment Form as a successful payment/failed payment.  You would need to use a custom success and failure URL.  If you need Payments2Us staff to liase with your web site developer, then you'll need to purchase our Premium Support Pack.

If you would like Google Pay and/or Apple Pay with Windcave to be enabled, please contact [email protected].

China Union Pay

China Union Pay is available as an option for organisations using the Windcave (aka Payment Express) payment gateway.

This option requires organisations to also have their Merchant Facility with Windcave/Payment Express.  It is also only available with the Checkout Modern form.

If you would like China Union Pay to be enabled, please contact [email protected].

Send By Post, Check/Cheque, Pledge/Bank Transfer/NDIS Claim

The Send By Post, Check, Cheque, Bank Transfer, NDIS Claim or Pledge options are all Checkout options for a contact/customer/donor to make a promise of sending a payment in.  For these payments, a Payment Txn is created in Salesforce and your organisation needs to make the Payment as received when it turns up.

The process for these payments are.

  1. Contact / Donor selects Send By Post, Check, Cheque, Bank Transfer, NDIS Claim or Pledge on the checkout form.
  2. Once they have completed the checkout form, they are shown the complete page, plus are emailed out.
  3. The donor makes a payment by posting it in. or doing a bank transfer
  4. A staff member at your organisation receives notification of the payment.  They then mark that payment of as being received.  This then sends a receipt to the contact.

For Send By Post, Check, Cheque, NDIS Claim or Pledge, the instructions sent/shown on the checkout complete page are maintained on the merchant facility - "Postal Instructions" field.

For Bank Transfer, the instructions sent/shown on the checkout complete page are maintained on the merchant facility - "Bank Transfer Instructions".

These types of payments are the Pay Later types of payments.

For more information on the process of managing these types of payments, please see the Pay Later procedure in this user guide.

Invoice Me

The invoice me option is where the contact is asking for an invoice before they'll make the payment.

For this type of payment, it records the request inside of Salesforce, but is expecting your organisation to generate an invoice from your finance system and to send that out to the contact.

Once the payment has been made, a member of your organisation will need to mark the payment as received.

Invoice Me type of payment is a Pay Later type of payments.

For more information on the process of managing these types of payments, please see the Pay Later procedure in this user guide.

Pay Using PayID

PayID types payments are available in Australia using the New Payment Systems.

This type of payment provides near real time payments.

Your organisation needs to sign up for a PayID through your bank.  Your PayId is generally an ABN, phone or email address.  Once you have a PayID, this needs to be recorded on the Merchant Facility in the field "Pay ID Instructions".

The PayID process is:

  1. Contact / Donor selects "PayID Using the checkout form.
  2. Once they have completed the checkout form, they are shown the "Pay ID Instructions" from the Merchant Facility, plus are emailed the PayID instructions.
  3. Through their mobile banking or online banking, they make a payment to your organisations PayID
  4. A staff member at your organisation receives notification of the payment.  They then mark that payment of as being received.  This then sends a receipt to the contact.

This type of payment is using the Pay Later Process.
