How to enable Annual CPI Increases

Overview

The CPI Increase Processor allows you to apply annual CPI-based percentage increases to Recurring Payments. This feature ensures that donor contribution amounts stay in line with inflation or annual adjustments, without the need for manual record updates.

A button CPI Processor has been introduced and can be accessed from the “Recurring Payments” tab in the Payments2Us App.

When processed, it automatically increases recurring donation amounts based on the specified CPI percentage.

 

 

To apply the CPI price increase, it must be enabled on the Recurring Payment records with consent from the donor/supporter. We have introduce a new field “I agree to annual CPI Increases” on Payment txn and Recurring payment object, You can add the field in your payment form in order to get donor's consent, once selected on the donor form, it will be marked true on related payment txn and recurring payment record. In order to show the field on the payment form please do the following:

  • Go to Setup → Object Manager → Open Payment Txn object.

 

  • Go to the Field Sets and open “checkoutTransactionDetails” field set.

 

  • Move “I agree to annual CPI Increases” field from Available to Selected section.

 

  • Now, go to the payment form you want this checkbox to show up, click on Payment form builder button.
  • Edit the Transaction Details section, drag and add the field to the displayed fields.
     

 

  • Save the payment form.
  • Now this field will be visible on your payment form, kindly note that it will only become visible once user select any recurring frequency (Monthly, Weekly etc.)

Setup Annual CPI Increases

(1) On the Recurring Payments Tab, click “CPI Processor” list view button

(2) Enter the CPI Percentage Value (eg 10 for 10%)

(3) Click Proceed

It starts a batch processor which applies the CPI percentage increase to all Active Recurring Payments where “I agree to annual CPI Increases” is checked. Also, an activity is logged for each Recurring Payment.

Review the Results

Open any affected Recurring Payment record. Confirm that:

  1. The Amount or Donation Amount has increased.
  2.  The "I agree to annual CPI Increases” field is unchecked.
  3. The “Last CPI Increase Date" field shows today’s date.
  4. A Task has been created with the subject “CPI Increase”.
